WAIMR's Scitech Gallery Opens

The Western Australian Institute for Medical Research is hoping to spread the message in the community about its inspiring research, unveiling a Think Tank Gallery at Scitech today.

The gallery of 21 colourful panels highlights important discoveries and research projects at WAIMR in the areas of genetics, nutrition, environmental links to disease, clinical trials and more.

Speakers at the event included WAIMR Director Professor Peter Klinken, the Chief Scientist of Western Australia, Lyn Beazley and the Hon. John Day, Minister for Science and Innovation.

The Think Tank gallery, which is located centrally in Scitech at City West will run for 3 months, including the October school holidays, when WAIMR researchers will be present for visitors to "Meet the Scientist" and look at cells under a microscope.
