Wesfarmers' Finance Director Joins Research Institute Board

The Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR) has welcomed Terry Bowen to its board of directors.

Mr Bowen has held the position of Finance Director at Wesfarmers since May last year and was previously the Finance Director of Coles and the inaugural Chief Financial Officer for Jetstar Airways.

He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree and is a Certified Practising Accountant.

Mr Bowen is also a Director of Gresham Partners Holdings Ltd, the Western Australian Opera Company Incorporated and a number of Wesfarmers Group subsidiaries.

He is a member of both the National Executive of the Group of 100 Inc and Curtin University School of Accountancy Advisory Board.

WAIMR Director Professor Peter Klinken said Terry was a fantastic addition to the Institute's board.

"We are very pleased Terry has agreed to join our board of directors - his expertise will be critical as the Institute enters another accelerated growth phase," he said.

Board chairman Larry Iffla said he was delighted to welcome Terry to the WAIMR board.

"Terry's commercial experience and knowledge of corporate governance will be very valuable to WAIMR. Terry adds further strength to the Board's broad range of commercial and medical research expertise," he said.
