Why Support WAIMR?

Medical research studies are designed to provide information on health or disease. The purpose of medical research is to learn how our bodies work, why we get sick, and what we can do to stay well. The goal of medical research is to improve our health, by advancing our knowledge of medical conditions.

The Western Australian Institute for Medical Research relies on support from the community to supplement government grants for our researchers, and pay for the equipment and utility costs which are part of daily work in the laboratory. Your support allows us to give hope to future generations and people who are currently suffering from breast and prostate cancer, melanoma, leukemia, diabetes, liver disease, mitochondrial diseases, anaphylaxis, neuromuscular problems and more.

We're happy to accommodate specific purpose donations for supporters who wish to direct their funds to a particular area of research.

Being a donor can also help you. We are registered with the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient which means that we can issue you with a tax-deductible receipt for any donation over $2. At WAIMR, we appreciate that every dollar counts.
